Meet Dr. Ellyn Singer
PsyD, MFTA seasoned, steady presence grounded in depth and warmth
With more than thirty years of clinical experience in West Los Angeles, Dr. Ellyn Singer brings distinguished expertise to her work with individuals and couples.
Her practice is grounded in psychoanalytic, relational, and trauma-informed approaches, integrating depth psychology with contemporary clinical understanding. She is licensed in California, Oregon, and Idaho.
Dr. Singer holds a Doctorate of Psychoanalysis (PsyD) from the Psychoanalytic Center of California, where she was awarded the prestigious James Gooch Prize for excellence in doctoral work. She completed her training at the Wright Institute of Los Angeles and earned her Master's degree in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University Los Angeles.
In addition to her private practice, Dr. Singer has led cardiac support groups, taught courses on abnormal and developmental psychology at Yosan University and Antioch University Los Angeles, and supervised both group and individual clinical associates at the Wright Institute Los Angeles, Valley Community Counseling, and Well Baby Center.
Prior to becoming a psychoanalyst, Dr. Singer gained extensive experience as an ICU nurse at St. John's Hospital in Santa Monica and Canada's Northwest Territories. Her capacity for steady presence, nuanced assessment, and deep attunement to trauma, crisis, and resilience continues to inform her clinical work today.
